How Do You Approach a Website Redesign?

It’s a good question to ask, and it has many different answers. Every business owner or manager who has a web presence has faced, at one time or another, the decision to update the look of their website (or redesign it from scratch).

Site Redesign Options

It’s important to look at your current website and determine what your options are for a redesign. Often times, websites that have been built as short-term solutions or that were built several years ago will need a complete overhaul. Other times, newer sites just need to be adapted to make them more current or to make them responsive.

Here are a few questions that can help you make the decision:

Does the current structure of your site make sense to your active user base?
Are the pages on your site connected in a way that is useful for both converting users on sales and crawling for search engines?
Is your current design modern enough to inject responsive code to make it work on mobile and other devices?

If you answered “yes” to all of the questions above, it’s probably OK to move forward with a simple facelift or responsive update. Often times, web developers will have methods for making certain elements of your site perform on mobile devices.
